Today I met up with a family who I’ve been talking to since last spring! They are from NYC so it’s been tricky finding a time that works for both of us but I’m so glad we did. It was a beautiful morning in Rockville, MD at the Glenview Mansion and this little girl was so chill and easy to work with. Thanks again for your patience, it was a pleasure meeting you!
This past weekend I had the absolute honor of photographing Tim & Melissa’s wedding in Virginia Beach! I kind of feel like part of the family now after photographing both daughter’s weddings over the past year and I really love this sweet family and their husband’s too! Melissa & Tim were truly glowing, you could see the adoration they felt for each other and how much they both loved God and that showed throughout their day and was apparent by the way their friends and family talked about them. Melissa looked amazing and Tim very handsome and I love how willing they were to do whatever we wanted with their pictures! I was assisted, again, by the talented David Abel, and I have to give him complete credit for the beach shot of the guys! I snuck over and took one, which I posted below, because I NEVER get to do the guys anymore since my assistants and I always divide and conquer when it comes to wedding party pictures. So thanks again for your great work David! And thanks again “R” family for inviting me to be apart of your day! Melissa & Tim, I know God will richly bless you in your life together! I hope you’re having a wonderful honeymoon!

Just wanted to share two wedding related items. One, my favorite image from this past weekends wedding. This picture just makes me happy because I can tell how happy she is! I will of course share more later but for now here’s a teaser! Also, for couples who are looking to add something fun to your wedding check out these really fun bowties from Upper French! Just imagine your future hubby and his guys in one of these babies! I’ll tell ya one thing, you definitely won’t look like the average wedding party!

This past weekend some of our good friends came back to town for a visit! They were some of our closest friends at our church and also lived just down the street from us so we were so sad when they moved away a few years ago! But, whenever we see each other it’s like they never left! And of course, we always have to get some updated pictures of their family. They have also added another member to the family since the last time we saw them, so it was exciting to get to meet little “C” as well. Anyway, the first picture is one of my favorite out takes from their session (and there were several that I promised not to share
So, make sure to take a close look at Baby “C” in the first picture. I promise, no babies were hurt in the making of this picture!

This past year I have had the absolute pleasure to work at my weddings with the amazing Holly Heider Chapple, my favorite floral designer! We finally got to meet in person at a wedding vendor event and I just loved her immediately! Meanwhile, my daughter Haley is obsessed with flowers! We’re either going on a flower hunt outside or she is dismantling my flower arrangements to make her own “bouquets”. So, I contacted Holly earlier this summer to ask if I could bring Haley out to her shop to make her own bouquet and we finally were able to do it last week! Holly has 7 children of her own and lives WAY out in Leesburg in the country. It’s so refreshing to leave the city and head out that way every now and then. She has a gorgeous old farm house which they’ve added onto in order to accommodate Holly’s growing business! We got there and headed on down to the garden with 3 of her kid and also met their chickens! Haley LOVED the chickens and I could hardly get her away from them to pick out flowers. It also didn’t help that we discovered a newly hatched chick, much to Holly’s surprise! :-) Haley also hit it off with one of her adorable sons, who is quite the charmer I might add! And Harper played with her youngest, who is just a few weeks older and as cute as a button! The kids had a great time creating their bouquets (Holly was so good about letting them be as creative as they wanted even though I was dying for her to step in and “perfect” them)! Holly, thank you soooo much for giving up your afternoon to let Haley fulfill a dream! We had a great time and fell in love with your wonderful family! Oh, we also stopped by her dad’s market on the way out of town and picked up some of his famous pie, which was soooo delicious that it was gone within hours of getting home! So, thanks again and BRIDES!!! Make sure to check out Holly, she works magic and can make your wedding vision even better than you imagine!
