Mother’s Day Mini’s and Fundraiser

I am excited to announce a Mother’s Day mini special that I will be offering throughout the spring!  One cause that has been near and dear to my heart since I was young, was at risk mothers and children.  The Bethany House is one of the amazing non profits in the D.C. Metro area offering a safe haven and education to at families experiencing domestic violence.  Throughout April I will be working with Bethany House of Northern Virginia to raise funds for their building project, which will expand current housing so that they may serve more families in our community.    Detailed information coming soon regarding booking a session.  In the meantime if you are interested in a donation only, the information is below!

Beth* said: “When he started hurting the children, I knew I had to leave.  I was so afraid that he would kill one of us before I could leave, but I had nowhere to go.  He was not the man I had known before.  Everything had changed.  As he was hurting us, I hardly could recognize him.  I left the house without anywhere to go.  I was so afraid.  An acquaintance allowed us to stay for the weekend.  I spent my time on the phone, calling shelters, trying to find a place to go.  I did not know about Bethany House and ended up in another shelter.  They were nice to us but before I could get my life back together, I had to leave.  I called the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and they told me about Bethany House.  I called and there was a place for me.  When we walked in the door at the shelter, my children and I knew we were in the right place.  We were all made to feel welcome and comfortable.  I started out making out my list of goals.  Kerry was my case worker, and she helped me with everything.  I was so encouraged.  I knew I could make it.  And then, I had one-on-one counseling time with Becky.  That was amazing!
I grew so much during my time at Bethany House.  I have stayed in touch with some of the ladies I met at the shelter, and we are good friends.  I have finished my education.  I have a job.  I have even been able to buy a car!  Most importantly, I know how to have healthy relationships now.  I am so thankful for all that Bethany House has done for me.
